last monday, i finally got to watched the film LOLA by brillante mendoza...
ito ay tungkol sa dalawang lola, una si lola sepa (played by anita linda) at si lola puring (played by rustica carpio). Dito ipinakita and dalawang kwento ng lola ng pinag-ugnay ng isang insidente.
Sa kabila ng katandaan nila, patuloy ang pakikipagsapalaran nila upang mabuhay at at tulungan ang mga mahal nila sa buhay. I was very much affected, kasi namulat tlaga ako sa katotohanan na karamihan sa mga matatanda ngayon ay nahaharap sa sobrang hirap na ang nararapat ay nagpapahinga na lamang sila sa kanilang bahay at inaalagaan ng kanilang mahal sa buhay. Ngunit hindi lahat ay ganito.
Pagkatapos kong mapanood ang pelikula ay binuksan ko nmn ang tv para manood ng news, at ikinabigla ko ang nakita ko, isang lola ang minamaltrato, ikinulong sa isang maliit na rehas sa loob mismo ng kanyang bahay at ang gumawa sa kanya mismo nito ay kanyang anak at manugang. Nakakainis ng sobra, gusto kong murahin sa mukha ang kanyang anak at manugang.
i was very disturbed by the video taken by a concerned neighbor, the one is when the Mang eddie, the son-in-law caning lola lourdes inside the cage, i was very furious upon seeing that scene. They were complaining that they can't take care lola lourdes, and she was always going ouside their house and she defecated inside the house, that's why they decided to put her inside the cage.
Shame on them! How could they afford to do that to their own mother who nurtured them since the day they were born, the daughter also added "wala kaming katulong eh, paano nmin yan aalagaan?", how pathetic.
But what surprises me is after the staff of XXX (a news program of abs-cbn) saves lola lourdes from that situation, lola lourdes said that she still loves her daughter inspite of she did to her.
I really salute lola sepa, lola puring and lola lourdes for their endless love to their family. In spite of the circumstances and hardship they stuggled to face the every day, given the fact that they are old and have a weak body, they are always their to extend help and love.
Our lola's and lolo's deserve our love and care, let's give them them the importance that they deserve, aside from the material things, it is our love, care and affection to them is more important above all.
